About me being a Christian. Yes I am, which means NOT that I am full of all kinds of perfect performance, or that I always do the right thing, but RATHER that because I can't do a perfect job of living on my own, I have completely trusted Jesus to forgive me for my sin, and guide me into doing what is best. Many people think Christians are supposed to be these perfect people that are "on" all the time and do only heroic, generous things.That's not realistic. We are sinners, flawed, spiritually deformed, and we can't fix ourselves. The old timers had an expression, "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps". If you think about that from a strictly scientific perspective, it's impossible because the puller is also the "pullee". In the same way, you can't fix your own spiritual depravity, you need a transfusion from God. This transfusion is obtained through what the Bible calls being saved, which in the original language means being made complete, or whole.
